Expungement Possible with less than 10 years since Conviction on Felony, 5 year law

Previously, I posted regarding fairly recent changes to the expungement laws in New Jersey. These changes pertain to felony (indictable) offenses and certain drug charges (distribution offenses). These laws allow the petitioner to apply for an expungement when less than ten years has passed since the time of conviction, end of probation, payment of fines, imprisonment, whichever is latest.

These changes provide an opportunity to those who would not have been eligible under the old laws until after 10 years had passed. I have represented many people who have taken advantage of this new law and I have been successful on every occasion to date.
